I am content falling back into a routine, even though it can be a hectic one. The kids seem to be enjoying school…so far, but we are only one week in. Ava joined the field hockey team and it brought back memories of when I was in grade seven and joined the team as well. I am surprisingly scrappy and aggressive on the field and was actually pretty good, people always underestimate the “little one”.

Wearing prints let alone mixing them can be quite daunting and I understand the fear…how do you know what prints to pair together? How many prints are too many? Will I look like I got dressed in the dark? I have the answers ladies! Just follow a few simple guidelines and you too will be a mix-master.

So here we go. The prints combined need to be various scales; pair an oversized floral with a small stripe like I have done above, or a much smaller print would work as well.

Style Tip: When mixing prints the number one rule to follow; all prints being combined must share common colour palettes. Pick one master print and pull all of your colours to incorporate in your other prints from that master print.

In my outfit I have pulled the black and white hues from my pants and incorporated that into my black and white striped top. All of the green hues in my pumps are also present in my pants.

Still love my Manola Blahnik’s (last seen here) years and years later.

If you are interested; Banana Republic Pants (same style, different print), BCBG MaxAzria Peplum Top (on clearance, amazing deal), Manola Blahnik (similar style).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great hump day.
