GLADIATOR GLORY

EAZY BREEZY SUMMER

WEDlogo

We are into the second week of summer vacation and the kids are bored and bickering already…argh!!! Levi still has his cast on and we are very limited on what activities we can do, fingers crossed the cast comes off Thursday…I am dying to hit the beach! Ava heads out to triathlon camp on Sunday so we are busying prepping her for her upcoming adventure…so proud of her.

This is my eazy breezy summer go to look, it has been unusually hot and dry and I love it…I am notoriously always cold. This lace tank from Banana Republic  (worn here last summer) is casual and cool and adds so much texture to an outfit.

The denim shorts are roomy which makes them both comfy and flattering (too tight cutoffs = not cute), they are Citizen’s of Humanity and I love them with a belt. This yellow calf hair belt is also from Banana Republic and picks up the yellow from my statement earrings (last worn here).

I bought these gladiators at Winner’s a few years ago (before they were ‘in’) and I remember getting a lot of stares when I was sporting them around my small town. Now they are everywhere…well come to think of it, I have yet to see anyone else in my town sporting them. Hmmm, is that good or bad? I have been pondering the toe ring and I think it should make a comeback (pedicure most definitely required). I am sporting a thin gold one below…what are your thoughts on the toe ring?

Style Tip: Denim cutoffs can be tricky to pull off once we are out of our twenties (sigh), wear a looser fit and the mirror is your friend. The shorter variety are also great for a beach day. For a more polished look try a longer length and darker wash.

One more shot with my fur baby, just because she is so freakin’ adorable!

Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday.
Your friend in fashion…amy.
