CLASSIC SUMMER NEUTRALS
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, either celebrating Canada Day or the 4th of July. We had a busy weekend half with family fun half with a sick boy. Like Levi hasn’t been through enough with his broken elbow…he had a stomach bug over the weekend. My daughter Ava had a triathlon Sunday and it was the perfect day for a race…here she is at the finish line with her number one fan Coco.
This is an outfit that I feel very sophisticated in, I think it is the colour palette and looser silhouette. As a fairly petite gal, very fitted and tailored pieces usually look best on me. I honestly thought loose wide leg trousers were not for me…I was pleasantly surprised by these flowy black babies.
The combination of various tones of gray and black instantly add richness to any ensemble. An oldie but goodie statement necklace from Banana Republic (love this gold one too) in the same tones complete the look.
Style Tip: Wearing loose body skimming pieces…but definitely not baggy, can actually be slimming and lengthening. If you select natural fabrics (cotton/linen blends), they can give you the added benefit of natural air conditioning.
The finishing touch…my go to Sigerson Morrison pony hair flats (last seen here). I like to have a couple elements of print and texture in any given outfit…these never let me down.
Have a great day and enjoy the beautiful summer weather!
