HOW TO LOOK COOL & CASUAL
Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you are having a lovely week and having fun with fashion. I have been busy as a “bee” this week…I had a very successful shopping day with a client on Sunday which led me to writing this post. Many of my clients and friends are busy moms or just busy ladies, who find it difficult to dress casually chic. You know that kinda in between cool and put together look…not work wear and definitely not workout wear.
It’s easily attainable to go out for playdates or brunch and look casual, chic and be comfortable.
A few key pieces will get you through the weekend, here are a few ideas;
– distressed skinny jeans
– structured blazer, classic or statement
– cool kicks, flats or comfy heels
– statement necklace or bracelet
– basic or graphic tee
– lightweight scarf
– denim jacket
– maxi dress
Style Tip: These pieces can be a casual capsule collection if they are coordinating basics/prints with a common colour scheme, that can be easily mixed and matched for numerous outfits.
This is one of my go to casual outfits…this very cool embellished bug short sleeved sweatshirt (adds whimsy and fun) is from Banana Republic paired with my old faithful J. Crew distressed skinny jeans and my black BCBGMaxAzria blazer. If you want to elevate an outfit from a basic tee and jeans add a blazer and you add instant polish.
These pumps from Ivanka Trump are the perfect height and have a heavenly padded footbed, perfect for a day on the go. The advantage of wearing an outfit that includes a blazer and pumps is you can go anywhere (okay almost) and be dressed for it.
How cute is this Coach micro mini tote (that also has a cross body strap), my mom gave it to me as a late birthday gift…she spoils me rotten. Not much fits in it; a phone, a credit card, keys and a lipstick, what else does a girl need?
What are some of your go-to weekend pieces? We all have a uniform, but it’s important to shake it up a bit. Take a look at some fashion magazines or celebrities that you admire and try to incorporate some of those elements into your wardrobe to spice it up.
