LET’S TALK TRENDS ONE AT A TIME…statement earrings

It’s March Break and the kids and I have been busy, but I find it challenging to fill the days and I am so, so, so ready for the weekend! We went to the  movies Wednesday and it was complete mayhem, way too many people for this girl. Yesterday afternoon we visited my soon-to-be 99 year old Grandma in the nursing home, she is still sharp as a tack. I think it is important to show my kids that we should all take time out of our busy lives for the elderly, they are a wealth of knowledge and a gift. Sunday is Ava’s 12th birthday so I am taking her and a few friends to the mall… of course I am not allowed to hang out with them. Believe me I will have no trouble at all shopping on my own!

Today we are talking all about statement earrings.

Statement earrings are a fun trend we can all partake in, inexpensive and flattering to all shapes and sizes. I am a new convert to this trend…I typically wear my diamond studs daily, they are part of my jewellery uniform. After looking at the fun options below I am going to incorporate this look into my spring and summer wardrobe, these earrings work especially well with the cold shoulder trend (last seen here).

I am thinking of trying these Banana Republic mixed media earrings, I think they would go great with these Banana Republic pants (last seen here).

These are a steal, blooming bud chandelier earring also from Banana Republic.

I like the depth and dimension is these boho earrings from Aldo.

I can’t leave out the little blue box…we all need to dream big! These Elsa Peretti diamond and mesh earrings are a showstopper!

I am loving all of the Zara jewellery right now…how cool are these mismatched earrings?

Style Tip: When wearing statement earrings keep the rest of your jewellery to a bare minimum…and especially no necklaces. A cool cuff or a statement ring is a nice balance, and pull your hair back into a sleek ponytail to really show them off.

Have a great weekend everyone, I know I can hardly wait.
