This post is all about basic pieces and how to incorporate them into your everyday look. Investing in high quality basic pieces is the cornerstone of a successful wardrobe.

In this outfit I incorporated all basic pieces to form a funky casual outfit. A black wool crewneck sweater from Banana Republic is a great layering piece and keeps me cozy, I am also a fan of solid turtlenecks in black, grey and navy.

I recently scored a sweet deal on these J Crew skinny jeans…half price, who hoo! They fit like a glove and are distressed enough to be edgy but still qualify as a basic. A dark jean of any description (skinny, straight or wide leg) is a basic that every girl should have in her closet.

A leather moto jacket has turned into a basic piece in the modern wardrobe…I LOVE mine from BCBG MaxAzria! I wear it constantly over dresses, with jeans and with a fur vest thrown over top.

I have a weakness for Mr. Weitzman…high quality footwear that you will put on repeat. They do have a high price tag attached to them but all of my Weitzman boots have delivered. These moto boots are so comfortable and the tweed upper gives a bit of softness to balance out the tough studs and chains…I feel a little bad ass when I wear them. I also love to pair them with a very feminine flirty dress.

To complete my look a basic black leather handbag, this is my everyday bag that fits all my essentials (including my son’s trucks and tractors). I have added some extra pizazz with a large black leather tassel and a fur pom pom.

Happy Wednesday to you all and thank you for taking the time to read my post. I know this time of year is as hectic as they come.
