NAVY IS THE NEW BLACK
This is a transitional time of year, it was literally 4 degrees this morning and by 2:00pm it was 24 degrees! Many women have a hard time mastering the art of transitional dressing, a wool cardigan over a cotton sundress is not the answer.
The key is colour and fabrications. Once September rolls around I tend to wear darker shades and bring in some lightweight knits, and blazers are really a girls best friend. I trade in all my sandals for closed toe flats, pumps or booties. Time to pack away the linen and lightweight cottons, bring on the wool, cashmere and jersey…and of course denim is season-less!
In this week’s outfit I traded my white jeans in for these gray Citizen’s of Humanity ones and paired them with a Theory abstract print silk blouse with leather detailing. I adore navy and gray paired together, so sophisticated and a great choice for this transitional time. As we age black can be a little harsh on our complexions, give navy a try…it looks amazing on everyone. Navy really is the new black! And you can baby step into it, pair navy and black together for pure chic.
I rolled up the cuffs for a more casual vibe, but truth be told I wanted my fringe Rebecca Minkoff shoes to be seen. I just love these babies, flats that make me feel fab! And this is my coveted Alexander McQueen bag that my amazing brother bought me on a trip to Italy. Yes he really is the best brother ever!
For a little visual interest I layered a longer druzy pendant necklace with a delicate shorter skull pendant. It is okay to mix and silver and gold, it is current and modern.

‘How do you transition into fall?’
First.. whimper at the loss of warm weather then start weeding out the summer apparel and shoes and tuck away for spring. then bring on the blazers, moto and denim jackets are always handy!
