It finally feels like summer in my neck of the woods…yippee! The perfect time to pull out my ivory crochet tank and a fun yellow mini skirt. I am notoriously not a fan of yellow, in my defence I am from the cool palette and yellow looks terrible on me. A tip for wearing a colour that intimidates you or isn’t flattering near your face is to wear it in a bottom like I have done here or in your accessories such as shoes, a bag or a belt. I loved this yellow skirt much more when I opened my mind up and gave it a chance, yellow can be my friend…from the waist down.

I paired this cool flirty mini with a gorgeous crochet tank that screams boho chic, throw on a dark denim blazer if there is a chill in the air. The key to finding a crochet or lace piece, look for high quality fabric that has a lining. No one wants to look like their Granny’s lace doily!

My Cole Haan nude platform sandals subtly finish the look, the cork platform and wooden heel are the perfect compliment to this summer ensemble.

I love these turquoise Jay Lane drop earrings…this is me breaking out of a rut, again. I always sport my diamond studs my handsome husband gave me after the birth of our second child. These are fun and add another layer of dimension to an outfit, I will probably be buying more statement earrings in the future.

What are you wearing to get through the summer heat?
Your friend in fashion…amy.

  1. Great look Amy! Speaking of trying something out of my comfort zone, I just broke out of my rut and got a Michael Kors Mini wrap skirt that I’ve literally looked at and passed up 5 times at Winners uncertain if I would wear it. Faced with it once more I thought WWAD (what would Amy do)?

So… I got it and it looks fabulous with a top we brought together a Spring Shop (with my stylist 😉

For $25 and pairing with items you help me purchase, I got a whole new outfit!
