One of my followers asked me to write a post on how to wear the very popular gladiator sandal…ask and you shall receive! There are so many variations of this style from extreme knee high lacing, to a subtle strapped ankle version or a sexy stiletto version. I have three looks below that portray all three of these styles. I am particularly fond of this sandal and am guilty of owning all three variations…a girl wants what a girl wants!

This is a casual look with a knee high gladiator sandal, I am going to be brutally honest here. This look is best left for those with thin calves and the straps can not be too tight, or your calf ends up looking like a tied pot roast. But if you can find a pair with adjustable straps go for it!

Style Tip
Wear these sandals with cut off denim shorts, a cool printed blouse and a statement necklace. Finish it off with some cool Sunnies and great cross body bag.

This look incorporates a maxi dress and can be worn with knee high gladiators, especially if the maxi has a side slit! This style can also be worn with the more demure ankle version.

Style Tip
Wear this maxi dress with flat gladiators of any version, or wear a heeled pair to dress it up for evening, this look is very versatile. It looks great with a denim jacket, some cool statement earrings and a cobalt blue tote.

This one is for a hot date nite or a fun filled girls nite out. The heeled gladiator is more comfortable than it appears and gives a modern vibe to any outfit. This style can be worn by anyone.

Style Tip
You will get noticed in this sexy fringe cocktail dress paired with heeled gladiators and an animal print clutch. A black cape jacket can be wrapped over your shoulders…and who doesn’t love a little arm candy?

I hope this post has answered your questions about the gladiator sandal, send me a pic of you in your glam’s.

  1. I read your blog Saturday morning and headed a couple of hours after on the hunt for the perfect Gladiator sandal. I found great just above the ankle pair at Banana Republic in gold metallic (and 40% off) — wore them right out of the store. After walking in possibly the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever owned (for 3 kms) and two compliments later, I went back for a pair in black! Thanks Amy 🙂
